Hunstman and Ball print

Made by Helen Britton exclusively for Funaki, this print is a limited edition of 7, made with rag paper, tusche and acrylic spray.

Each print is 570 x 420mm.

When I lived in Australia I had a large hunstman in my studio. The spider would appear sometimes next to my hand when I was working, on its way to hunt down one of the many hapless insects who also resided with me. Over the years as the evidence became available of the decimation of insect populations, particularly in Germany where I am currently based, it occurred to me that my dear old hunstman would find life boring here with nothing left to chase.
