This strong, muscular chain is the result of truly bravura use of the lost-wax technique, as Bauhuis forms each link in wax and builds a "tree", with each wax link already connected, interlinked with its neighbour, before the whole object is cast as one complete piece in metal. The chain is then carefully cut away from the tree, falling into shape as a necklace.
